And Also The Trees - excavating their spiritual roots, Zigzag Jan. 1985

Luckily, I was able to see them play twice this year here in the UK, which it seems nowadays a rarity for them to play on their own soil. One of the gigs happen to be in this tiny, intimate venue in Birmingham, where  they announced to a small group of about 50 of us that it had been nearly twenty years since they last played there. One thing  I always found so ironic that a band who's very essence and core is inspired by the English countryside and aesthetic, yet they are still completely misunderstood here. Overtime their career has only refined to a sheer, delicate perfection that only a handful seem to fully appreciate and understand.... Here's to another 20 years.
